Essential Oil Safety
6/20/2018
We've all heard about Essential Oils and the great things they do for us and their many uses. It's time we talk safety, especially when it comes to the little ones. Yes, essential oils are natural and come from flowers, herbs, fruits, seeds, wood etc but, even though they're natural, they are still very strong and highly concentrated chemicals that should always be used with caution. All oils are NOT created equally and should only be introduced to children at certain ages. Here is a helpful infographic with the oils listed and safe ages to use them. NOTE: Always patch test when using a new oil/product before applying to large areas of the body. Sources: Tisserand, Robert, et al. Essential Oil Safety: a Guide for Health Care Professionals.
